I learned about the Foodvisor App during one of the "Questions of the Week" and started using it daily to assist in my weight loss goals. I am now down 8 lbs and would never have known about it, if it weren't for the Winter STREAK!

In January, my blood test results showed I am pre-diabetic. I have a very strong family history of diabetes, which caused both of my diabetic parents to lose a leg before passing away from complications of this terrible disease. I cried when I got the results of my A1C! My husband and daughter surrounded me and told me they were in this battle with me and would change their eating patterns AND exercise with me! We would do this as a team! It is a new change for us, and we are still navigating our way, BUT I am not alone and I can live healthy even if I become diabetic! These changes I am making will set me up for success in the future so that I can live a long, productive life, and be here to see all that life has for my children and possibly grandchildren! Thank you for having this program with healthy recipes and exercises!

When I retired, I wasn’t sure how motivated I’d be to exercise, but knew I should. I did slowly try, but then I discovered Winter STREAK offered by WellSpan each winter. The virtual program offers advice on self improvement and healthier food choices. It helped me set attainable goals with tips on achieving them. My journey led me to become involved in Ephrata Rec Center SilverSneakers and eventually led me to try a Pound class, which I love. I made many new friends there (I’m on the left) and we all enjoy exercising together! My joints feel better, I feel stronger, and on mornings I don’t attend a rec class, I walk with my neighbors. Amazingly, I’m even sleeping better as Winter STREAK led me to complete a WellSpan Philhaven CBT online program to improve sleep, and it worked! So thank you WellSpan Winter STREAK for guiding me to a HEALTHIER ME!

I’m proud to share that I’ve lost 30 pounds. It wasn’t about perfection — it was about small, sustainable changes, staying committed, and being patient with myself. SELF LOVE FOR THE WIN!

I like the Chinese adage that states "If you know the art of deep breathing, you have the strength, wisdom and courage of ten tigers". Deep breathing is so beneficial in so many ways!

This Winter, I’ve been reminding myself that sharing is caring—just like the Care Bears taught me. The Winter blues can sneak up on us the same way the dog days of Summer do, but this season I’ve been focusing on simple habits that make each day brighter. Bingo has inspired me to stretch more, get outside (even if it’s chilly!), and offer genuine compliments to others. It’s amazing how these small, good things add up to support our overall well‑being. Here’s to staying active, staying connected, and sharing positivity all Winter long!

This is the 3rd year that I have participated in the Winter STREAK Wellness Program. I find myself more engaged with each year that passes. Both my physical and emotional health suffer during the Winter months, so to have a program that specifically focuses on what can be done to help boost both of them has been such a great resource! As much as I look forward to the Spring and Summer months, so that I can be outside, the Winter STREAK Program allows me to enjoy the now of Winter.

The Plant-Based Broccoli "Cheese" Soup was good with crusty bread and makes several servings - so good the next day!

I registered for the "From Stress to Stillness: The Heartfulness Approach to Well-Being" Workshop, which took place on February 4, 2026. We have been having frigid temperatures, and I have not been walking outdoors on a daily basis, which is something I enjoy doing. On February 4th, the temperature was 30 degrees (a heatwave!) and a beautiful sunny day. I decided to go for a walk, and I listened to the Winter STREAK Workshop as I walked. The session was very informational, and I was able to get some exercise in at the same time! A great day!

The Winter season has always been a challenge for me, and I never really fully embraced it until this year. My previous thoughts were to endure and this time shall pass. Recently, a friend of mine mentioned how this season has a purpose. A time for reflection. A time to be. I decided instead of just surviving this season, I would embrace it! I am purposefully living and embracing the beauty of this season. I take pictures, I enjoy the wildlife, and I walk outdoors when it isn't arctic cold. I enjoy my family and the opportunity to work on much needed inside the home projects. I have also started a commitment to my own wellness, mind, body, and spirit.

Big thanks for keeping health a top priority—our hearts are feeling the love this month!

As a Buddhist, I believe it is my duty to keep a healthy body, and participating in Winter STREAK every year has made an impact in helping me to stay focused and motivated on my health throughout the difficult cold months of Winter.

Winter STREAK gives purpose to an otherwise bleak time of year.

I am trying to increase my daily activity by using my love of reading to help. I started using a little pocket planner to track everything I am doing, along with my sleep, as it is helping to not only hold me accountable but was so rewarding to see at the end of the month how much I was actually doing. I have been a remote employee since before COVID and went from 10,000 steps a day to just under 2,000, so I have struggled to increase my activity. Little did I know that injuring my leg this past Fall would lead to creating a plan that is working for me. If I tell people I am going to the gym, I won't do it, but by scheduling it on my calendar like an appointment and calling it PT (physical therapy), it is almost 100% guaranteeing that I will participate and complete it.
